A Fellowship Recipient for UNC-Chapel Hill\u2019s \u201cLearning from Artists’ Archives\u201d dual Art History and Library Science programs, I received my MSLS from UNC\u2019s School of Information & Library Science with a specialization in artists\u2019 archives. I taught archiving workshops to artists at institutions like The Mint Museum and the North Carolina Museum of Art as part of the UNC fellowship. I cut my teeth as an archivist in artists’ and studio archives at the Georgia O\u2019Keeffe Museum in New Mexico and for artists and artisans in North Carolina and Connecticut. I previously worked as a librarian in academic libraries and archives, public libraries, and special collections. Presently, I teach small workshops to artists at Erector Square in New Haven, CT and offer artists’ studio archiving and book arts workshops through the Silvermine Art Center in New Canaan, CT.<\/p>\n

My parallel bookbinding career began as a student in the Book Arts and Conservation Labs and the Special Collections of Wellesley College. My passion for all things bookbinding grew into Rambling Rambler Press, my book arts studio. Under my press, I have taught bookbinding tutorials and worked on a number of collaborative projects with engineers, architects, tattooers, artists, and more.<\/p>\n

I also hold a BA from Wellesley College in Art History with a focus on ancient material cultures.<\/p>\n

This website started as part of JJ Bauer’s Digital Art History<\/a> course (UNC Art Dept, Spring 2016).\u00a0 ElizabethGrab.com quickly grew to represent my academic work and reflections on professional activities in art history, library science, and archives & records management.\u00a0 In addition, I recently began including my work as a book artist under the studio name of Rambling Rambler Press. I’m still deciding whether this website is the ideal platform for my present work or if it would be better to migrate the relevant posts to a new platform to start fresh, so keep an eye out for updates!<\/p>\n
